Ellingham Hall is one of those beautiful and quintessentially British wedding venues in Northumberland. I love capturing weddings there and when Paul and Katrin booked me for their wedding there in July this year I was so excited to go back!
The gorgeous Ellingham Hall was decorated in shades of purple and white to go with the wedding party’s outfits, and you must check out Katrins beautiful shoes!! Pauls talented sister made the stunning wedding cake which perfectly complimented their colour scheme and style!
Although Paul & Katrin both live in Sweden they chose Ellingham partly because Paul is originally from Whitley Bay. These two are obviously seasoned travellers and often can be found on one road trip or another! And with family and friends travelling from all over it’s no wonder they chose to marry in beautiful Northumberland!
Katrin made sure though to have a few touches from her native homeland throughout the wedding, with some fun traditional garden games. The pair also gave a nod to their roots in the scouting community, performing a knot tying during their ceremony which is where the bride and groom tie a specific knot with two pieces of rope, the kind of knot that only grows stronger the harder you pull which I think is such a lovely symbol for a marriage!
These guys and their entire wedding party were so friendly and so much fun to be around- and they also know how to party, (check out some of the dancing pics below!) We even managed to head around the back of Ellingham for some fun on the kiddies climbing frames and rope bridges :)
