Alnwick Garden has got to be one of the most beautiful ‘parks’ in the UK. I just love photographing weddings and receptions there! And with a couple as stylish as Marcus & Gail planning their wedding reception in the gorgeous Pavillion this one was sure to be a wedding photographers dream!
Gail and her lovely ladies had a fun-filled morning at Gail’s family home in Blyth. When I arrived the excitement in the household was buzzing and all the girls looked pretty as a picture in the fab silk gowns which Gail’s clever mum had embroidered and personalised for each of them.
Err, Gorgeous Shoe alert!!! Have you seen the bling on these Jimmy Choo’s? Just divine!
Loved the little nod to the surprise Gail and Marcus had planned for their guests later on! Can you guess what it is yet?
Gail looked every inch the classic, beautiful bride in her stunning gown and pearls.
I knew Marcus was going to be a Dapper groom, but he really blew me away with his tartan pants and the thistle in his buttoner was a fab detail to represent his Scottish heritage!
How sweet is this! Attached to his pocket watch, Marcus kept a locket with a picture of his beautiful bride and a note which read ‘Forever & Always’…one more clue :)
You could tell that Marcus was a little more than a little bit excited for his Bride to walk down the aisle and meet him at the gorgeous St Pauls church in Alnwick Town..
After a lovely ceremony, the newlyweds were sent off in a rain of confetti, to their next stop at Alnwick Garden.
The pavilion had been decked out beautifully- with a crisp, clean backdrop along with pops of colour provided by the beautiful hysteria hanging from the ceiling, the potted hydrangeas and the colourful napkin rings- do you recognise the motif on the napkins? That’ll be Gail’s clever mum at work again!
As the guests enjoyed milling around the pavilion and gardens to the sound of steel drums, we took the opportunity to have a little wander around the grounds, Gail’s favourite spot is the rose garden, so we started there..
The rain came in as we were beginning to do the shots of the bridal party- luckily Gail had thought of everything and brought along some colour co-ordnated umbrellas for just such an occasion!
I so adore it when a bride gets up to do her own speech! And Gail nailed it!!
How pretty is this Hydrangea covered cake!?!
After the wedding breakfast and speeches, the rain had cleared!! We decided to make the most of the break in the weather and take advantage of that gorgeous fountain!
Here it is! That surprise you’ve been waiting for?? Well, if you hadn’t guessed yet- Marcus & Gails first dance song was Forever and Always- The theme tune to Baywatch!!! Cleverly revamped as an acoustic ballad and recorded by one of Gail’s bridesmaids and her beau.
Every detail was covered- The newlyweds even had their very own beer brewed especially for their big day! Of course it went down a storm!
These guys know how to party! And the Ceilidh kicked things off great of course!
Congratulations Marcus & Gail! Wishing you many years of Love and Happiness! xxx
